I know a lot of you have been waiting for me to return. I’m back! I haven’t felt this inspired in years! It’s been a tough year but all is getting better. I work in a great studio in Lehi, UT. It’s called Camera Shy www.camerashy.com. It’s so much fun. We have so many great backdrops, walls, newborn items…we are stocked! I took these pics of my kids just yesterday for my Dad for Father’s day. These are some of my favorite. I hope you enjoy them!

A few months ago if someone would have brought up politics I would have said “Oh! Look at the time! I need to fumigate my house!” and booked it out of there as fast as I could, even if I had to leave my children behind. Not good, I know, but what can I say other than politics bore me? Also there is so much friction and hate you can put it on the list of religions and races. I’m a peaceful person, and usually like to keep the peace. I love a good debate, don’t get me wrong, but I love debating with people who know how to debate and don’t end up punching me.
My Grandpa Walton always told me “Jess, there are three types of people who will tell you the truth. Kids, drunks, and myself so quit your boobin’ and move on with it.”. Am I going to watch and believe everything I hear on the news? No! Have I ever? Maybe when I was a little girl watching the news with my Mom and Dad.
I have help people! The Left Show! These guys know their facts and they are funny. Politics and humor? We know it exists. We have the wonderful Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart. I honestly get my political updates from comedians. Yeah, so I trust them more than FOX news or CNN and I like them because they have personalities. You will find all these qualities when listening to The Left Show.
Besides Facebook, where can you find The Left Show? Why on iTunes of course. Free podcasts! Are you bored while editing photos, cleaning your house, yard work? Simple solution. Hey, it works for me!
I had a session with the guys from The Left Show. It was a lot of fun. It’s too bad we didn’t tape the entire session. It could have made a show like no other. Fist fights, chair fights, laughter, and the occasional f bomb dropped. I feel lucky to have survived, then again, I can hold my own.

I am officially moved into Studio One, located at the Salt Lake Bridal Mall downtown Salt Lake City. The address is 341 S. Main Street. Those of you that are familiar with Salt Lake know this is a wonderful place to shoot! Downtown Salt Lake makes a great backdrop for any photo.
Most sessions start in studio then we head outside where the fun begins. With every turn there is a different style that can be achieved. Kids love it, parents love it, and I love it. Win/win.
Best news, as some have already taken advantage of, all child and newborn sessions are free with a free 8×10! To get in on this offer you will need to book before October 15th. Now that doesn’t mean that you have to come in before October 15th. I will let you book your free session anytime before November 21st. Great time for Christmas photos!
Booking your session is easy! You can schedule on Facebook. First like my page, look to the left and choose the ’schedule your session’ button. Pick your day and time and you are set! If you have more than one child for the free sessions please book two sessions back to back. There is a limit to 2 free 8×10’s per family.
This is a recent free session shot both in studio and downtown. The Davis family was a lot of fun. The kids have talent for sure!
Now doesn’t that look like fun? Don’t pay for school pictures this year, or go to some cheesy studio. You will end up spending a lot more money and leave less than satisfied, besides, your kids would never have as much fun!

I have not been online for 3 weeks. It must be some kind of record for me. I’ve moved into my new home! I absolutely love it. I’ve been painting, cleaning, packing, then unpacking. It’s been crazy, but lots of fun. I haven’t gotten around to getting internet at my house. At this moment I am at my bro’s house hanging with all the kiddos.
I was so lucky to photograph the Hahn family a few weeks ago. The FUNNEST and most creative family. They are also some of the nicest people that I have known in my lifetime. You may have been one of the lucky ones that have seen Dave Hahn play in Salt Lake and surrounding areas. He is outstanding! I’ve always loved the acoustic guitar. It brings back memories of falling asleep when I was little while my Dad played his acoustic. If you haven’t had the pleasure of hearing his music you are missing out! And Terri is an amazing woman. Very inspiring to me. Her smile is simply contagious.

Portrait parties are so much fun! Yes, you can pay to go skating, swimming, have magic shows, but this is memorable. Not only will you, your child, and your child’s friends have fun for one night, they will have memories to last a lifetime. Portrait parties start at $30 per person. I’ve known a lot of Pit’s that are gentle, sweet, and loving with kids. Then I hear the stories about the Pit’s that attack children, killing them, or their owners. In South Jordan it is against the law to own a Pit Bull. If you do own one they will put it down. Sad. 
Personally I think that Pit Bull’s have a bad rap. The ones that I have known are so sweet, but to be perfectly honest I would still be afraid of getting one for my family. Darn you media! And darn you people that abuse your dogs and make them mean.
A couple of weeks ago I was at Petsmart with my little punks, doing some pet training for our Chiweenie, Meesa. While there I was stopped dead in my tracks by this BEAUTIFUL Pit Bull puppy. Right away I ripped out my business card and presented it to the owners and asked if I could photograph her.
Two weeks later, and 4 pounds heavier Keely (the pup), Stephanie, Weston, and I got together for these cute photos. Here is a sample of the fun we had last night. 
I would like to give a big thanks to Weston, Stephanie, and Keely for letting me put them through torture. I do hope you like the pics. You are such a beautiful family I may have the two of you model for me soon, so watch out!

I know it is hard when you have to choose which photos you would like to proudly hang in your home. For this reason I have invested in wall displays made by KDub Designs. It will help you decide where you would like to hang your photos, what sizes would be best, how much space you need, and which photos will look best as a set. Although in the samples you will see a matt with the frame, this is what I do, and usually tell my clients so they can save on framing prices.Whether it is canvas (my fav) or regular prints I don’t like to use a matt or glass. I like to have the sprayed with a lacquer finish, then framed. I think it has a more artistic appeal. I also go cheapo. I find my frames at Hobby Lobby when they are half off. If you take your print in, purchase at open back frame, they will actually put it together for you so it is ready to hang. I understand that prints can be very expensive and add up quickly, this is why I like to do it this way with framing because framing is even more expensive than prints.Dear photographers,
If you don’t have these wall templates you should get them! So easy to use and it also helps when proofing and even shooting. You can design a display in your head by consulting with your clients before the shoot, finding out where in their home they would like to hang their portraits, then work it all out in your head.
